On December 17, the Jan Vertonghen Foundation visited the Queen Paola Children’s Hospital in Antwerp for a heartwarming Christmas initiative. Together with 78 children from Studio Dynamo, an urban primary school in Antwerp, they filled the hospital with joyful Christmas carols. The children’s singing brought smiles to the faces of patients, parents, and healthcare workers alike.
In addition to the musical performances, Christmas gifts were distributed to the children. Thanks to the support of Fujitsu, the newest partner of the Jan Vertonghen Foundation, laptops were donated. Some of these laptops were directly given to the hospital, while others will be distributed to various hospitals in Belgium.
Later in the day, Jan Vertonghen himself visited UKJA (Child and Adolescent Psychiatry Unit) located next to the children’s hospital. There, he also handed out Christmas gifts, bringing joy to the children.
The highlight of the day was the presentation of a €25,000 check from FIFPRO to support the construction of a new playground on the hospital grounds, set to open in Spring 2025.
Additionally, Play Nostalgie and partner Vavato hosted an auction earlier this year to support the playground project. Southnatie also contributed €2003.75 to further support the foundation’s initiatives.
🙏❤️ The Jan Vertonghen Foundation extends its heartfelt thanks to all partners, sponsors, and volunteers for their contributions to this unforgettable day. Every child is special, and thanks to this effort, they truly felt it today.
