Today, the Jan Vertonghen Foundation, together with its regular partner Lizart, unveiled the new murals in the pediatric department of AZ Monica Deurne. The theme, “Raf the Giraffe,” revolves around a giraffe helping sick animals in the savannah, designed to brighten up children during their hospital stay.
Today, we were guests at the pediatric department of AZ Monica in Deurne to officially unveil our new murals. The Jan Vertonghen Foundation aims to contribute to as pleasant a hospital stay as possible for children. Therefore, we enlisted our regular partner Lizart to provide the hospital with murals tailored to children. AZ Monica chose the theme “Raf the Giraffe,” a character who helps sick animals in the savannah.
A part of this was made possible by Tom Vanderlinden and Nico Brams. They ran the half marathon in Valencia and managed to raise 5,000 euros through sponsorship, which is half of the total amount needed for the project. We also handed out special art kits in collaboration with LuKiArt to the child patients to stimulate their creativity.
