On August 29, the Urban Sports Park in Maasmechelen officially opened. This new park, with an impressive 1600 m² of sports excitement, features a skatepark, pump track, and the interactive Yalp Sona. It’s the perfect place for children and young people to come together, stay active, and have fun.
With the help of local experts and the Jan Vertonghen Foundation, the park was designed to challenge everyone, from beginners to experienced athletes. Thanks to this collaboration, skaters, cyclists, and gamers can all find something they love.
In the coming weeks, lighting will be installed in the park, allowing sports enthusiasts to enjoy the facilities throughout autumn and spring. Every year, the municipality will also organize events like competitions and skate workshops.
“I am convinced that the Urban Sports Park in Eisden will become a meeting place where many young people will have a great time!” – Mayor Raf Terwingen.
