Proud of the EACD+ Sports Festival!

1 June 2024

The Jan Vertonghen Foundation proudly reflects on the EACD+ Sports Festival, a day full of sports, inclusion, and fun. This event gave children with cerebral palsy and other neuromotor disabilities the chance to discover their love for football.

At the Jan Vertonghen Foundation, we proudly look back on the EACD+ Sports Festival, where sports, inclusion, and fun merged into an unforgettable day. Inspired by previous successes of Futbalista and CP+Foot Festivals, we placed a special focus on football together with our partners.

Thanks to our contribution, children with cerebral palsy and other neuromotor disabilities had the opportunity to experience their passion for football.

HIGHLIGHTS

One of the highlights was the debut of frame football in Belgium, marking an important step towards more inclusivity in football. This variant is specifically designed for children who cannot walk without a frame; we are a bit behind in this area as it has been offered in the Netherlands and England for some time.

The absolute highlight of the day was the historic match between the national CP team and the Dutch U18 players, made possible by partners such as VoetbalVlaanderen, Niemand Buitenspel, RBFA, KNVB, and Passen Voetbal. We, too, at the Jan Vertonghen Foundation, are committed to an inclusive sports world.

We want to thank all participants, supporters, and partners for their contribution to this unforgettable day. Together, we show that football is for everyone!
