Sick children play sports thanks to auction proceeds from signed World Cup jerseys

31 March 2023

Thanks to the successful collaboration between the Jan Vertonghen Foundation and auction platform Vavato, the online auction of signed Red Devils jerseys during the World Cup has raised €18,000.

The Jan Vertonghen Foundation and online auction platform Vavato bring joy to children and bidders alike.

During the World Cup, people had the chance to bid on jerseys signed by the Red Devils. This successful online auction, hosted by the Foundation’s partner Vavato, now has a beautiful conclusion. Not only will the proceeds be used to create new sports and play opportunities for sick children, but on March 31, 10 bidders and their partners will get to meet Jan Vertonghen in person. In addition, one lucky person will walk away with a football shirt signed by all the Red Devils. During the press event, Jan Vertonghen will also elaborate on the Foundation’s achievements, goals, and future ambitions.

Playgrounds for hospitals

During last winter’s World Cup, the Foundation, in collaboration with Vavato, auctioned off jerseys signed by the Red Devils. The proceeds from this auction, about €18,000, will be used to create even more wonderful projects for children in the future.

Vavato and the Foundation have been partners for four years. Over the course of four auctions, they have raised more than €45,000, making many children happy and achieving wonderful things, such as the most recent playground with an interactive sound arch at Clinique CHC MontLégia in Liège. Our ambitions are high, and we look forward to continuing this collaboration to create even more playgrounds in hospitals!

A big thank you to our partner Vavato for this wonderful collaboration ❤️🙏
