The author
Charel Cambré (b. 1968) knew very early on that he would become an illustrator. When he was young he used to doodle on coasters in his parents’ pub and he began his artistic career at the Kunsthumaniora in Lier, Belgium.
He then studied animation at the KASK in Ghent. Although he has also worked on some Belgian productions, he has mainly worked on foreign cartoons.
He later moved to comics and started the Streetkids series in 1993, which appeared in the weekly ‘Suske en Wiske’ for ten years. A few years later, Cambré launched his own comic strip Jump, which follows the strange adventures of three hip friends.
He subsequently illustrated a comic strip, about the Pfaff family, created scripts and drawings for Studio 100 and was a member of Studio Vandersteen.
Today, he is very successful with series such as Amoras, an adult reworking of Willy and Wanda (a.k.a. Bob & Bobette or Spike and Suzy), Spirou special and Filip & Mathilde, among others.

The publisher
INdruk is the project of Claudia Boden and Alex De Meester, owners of Stripwinkel Alex.
The collection is largely made up of translations of French comics, but also includes quality local comics.
